"I have a vision for a new AFN where the rights-based agenda is paramount and First Nations assert a renewed jurisdiction towards self-determination, self-government and Nationhood.
Together, through Nation Building, we will work towards eliminating poverty, building economies, empowering our citizens and our youth through unity with pride.
A new AFN will truly support First Nations to determine who our citizens are, represent their interests wherever they live and give us all a homeland of wealth and prosperity."

AFN Renewal not radical Friday, July 17, 2009 My theme of "A New AFN" isn't literally about "re-structuring" ~ or casting aside the work of the past. It's about positive change and building on our successes. It's about doing things in a new way and ensuring the AFN is relevant to all First Nations citizens, especially our youth.

Delivering on a Rights-Based Agenda Thursday, July 16, 2009 First Nations in Canada need a National Chief that understands what it is to be a “Treaty Indian”, if you can pardon the outdated expression. We also need a National Chief that knows what the rights-based agenda really means. We need someone that can deliver more than rhetoric, but someone who has a tangible plan – but more importantly, can deliver on that plan.
